My latest book, "Berne and Knox, Some Early Families to 1787" is finally finished. It is a follow-up to my earlier book "Berne and Knox, Our German Heritage" which covers the early history of Berne and Knox through 1787. Both are available form my brother Ralph Miller, Town of Berne Historian, 1136 Helderberg Trail, Berne, NY, 12023. The books cost $20 each if picked up at his house or $25 if they are mailed. Checks should be made to Ralph Miller with a notation as to which book you would like.
Also a reprint of "Our Heritage" the 1977 history of Berne is available at the Berne Town Hall at a cost of $15.00. Cost for copies to be mailed is $20. Checks should be made out to Town of Berne and mailed to Berne Town Clerk, PO Box 57, Berne, NY 12023

I am very interested in finding information regarding Charles, son of John Haverly and Marilis/Mary Zimmer. John is the son of Carl/Karl/ Haverly and Anna Maria Bassler. Charles married Louisa Saddlemire. Any assistance with this family line would be so very helpful!

Charles, son of John Haverly and Marilis Zimmer was born 4 Dec. 1816 according to his baptism record at the Schoharie Reformed Church. He died 23 Dec. 1886 in Ames, IA. He married Louisa Saddlemire, the dau. of Frederick and Anna (Leib) Saddlemire. She was born 1 June 1817 and died 30 Mar 1904 in Denver, CO. This family moved to Ames, Iowa sometime after 1850. The first seven children were born in Knox, Albany County.

My source is Haverlys of the Helderbergs, a Haverly Genealogy by Estella Haverly Roth and Ramona Manchester Tryon and published by The Haverly Family Association, 1995.
